Maurice Journeau : "Marine" op. 23 in Québec
July 13th, 2025"Marine" op. 23 was a farewell work written on the French Riviera in 1936 before the composer's departure for Paris. It has been beautifully interpreted by the duet of Nicolas COUSINEAU (cello) and Martin KARLICEK (piano) in the unitarian church of Westmount on July 13th, 2025. This reminds us that these two musicians had already contributed, in 1923 and in Montréal, to the excellent interpretation of Journeau's "Petite suite pour cordes et piano" op. 13 (c.1929), a piano quintet and a popular work in France and abroad.
