September 27th, 2024 à 6.00 pmIf you love Nordic countries, if moreover you are interested by Stockholm's Swedish architecture however rapidly, don't miss visiting its cathedrals and churches. You will find there a huge variety of interesting architectural styles, either gothic, neogothic, baroque or "modern style".
Among them, the official cathedral, the very old "Storkyrkan" (tr: the "great church") is Lutheran like most swedish people. And all the royal weddings do take place there, according to the monarchic tradition.
But it is too a wonderful place for concerts. Just look at its half-yearly general programme : "Musik i Storkyrkan - Hösten & Vintern 2024" (tr: Music at the Cathedral - Autumn and Winter 2024). The programme of Autumn Concerts (p. 42) includes works chosen and interpreted by the titular organist of the Cathedral, Maître Mattias Wager on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at 6 p.m:
- Antoine VIVALDI : "Hösten ur Defyra arstiderne" (tr: Autumn, from the "Four seasons")
- Frédéric CHOPIN : "Regndropps preludiert" (tr: Raindrop Prelude op.28 n°15)
- Maurice JOURNEAU (1898-1999) : "Choral" for organ op. 17 (c.1931).
- Kristina FORSMAN : "Rain Refrain" (c. 2006) transcribed for organ by Mattias Wager(*).
