On Radio "ACCENT 4" : "Fantaisie pour violon et orgue" op. 54

May 25th, 2023 à 11.22 am

Composed in Paris on the year 1971, the "Fantaisie pour violon et orgue" (Henry Lemoine / Combre publisher) belongs to Journeau's last writing period for organ. And there the violin is granted the leading part, the organ being a subtle accompaniment. Both Violin and organ partnership was not so frequent at the time, the organ generally remaining a majestic, mighty and lonely instrument. Even if being sometimes with oboe or trumpet by other composers. And we find a beautiful partnership too with the canadian duet of Anne Robert (violin) and Jacques Boucher (organ) first recording the work in CD and then playing it much abroad in festivals.
