"Trois Pièces Brèves pour Clarinette en Si b" op.69
November 2013The clarinet is a wind instrument which of course plays a part in Maurice Journeau's works for orchestra or in three orchestral arrangements written by himself from some of his piano pieces. Also in Largo, a short, easy string and wind quintet with piano accompaniment (Editions Europart-Music). And for his Dialogues pour flûte et basson(Editions Fortin-Armiane) he willingly thinks of the clarinet in lieu of the flute.
Yet, he chooses the clarinet in Bb for one of his last works in 1984, giving thus birth to his Trois Pièces pour Clarinette en Si b op. 69 (with piano accompaniment) in three movements: Allegretto, Expressif (Expressive), Librement (Freely). This work has been recently published by Editions Fortin-Armiane in Paris. Maurice Journeau's works for wind instruments are available through this french publisher, except Journeau's Sonata for oboe and his double reed quartet (Editions IMD, Paris). Ch.Virlet-Journeau)
