There may be no lovelier sea-resort for Maurice Journeau's string quartet op.11, a work begun near the Atlantic Ocean in Biarritz and finished on the Mediterranean shores in Nice...A string quartet written then by a young composer, a work recently discovered by the young, promising violinist Benjamin Chavrier. The Manoel Theatre, with its ancient, baroque architecture, is quite a jewel in the island of Malta. As a yearly international meeting-point, Malta grants public concerts and highy-level string master-classes, attractive for artists and music students from all countries.
